I've noticed...
The more a person wants, the more discontent they will always be. If you have the need to validate yourself by acquiring things, things, and more things, especially the ones you can’t afford and don’t need, you will never be happy. Next week you’ll just want something new.
You can tell a lot about a person by how much stuff is lying around their house looking unused.
The Major Differences I've Noted Since Moving...
1. When it’s not rush hour, people around Dothan drive, generally, under the speed limit.
2. When we find hipster people talking about stupid shit and generally looking retarded in the coffee shop, they are high school hipsters, not English/Art/History/OtherStupidMajor students.
3. So many more things to do, but still too poor to do them. Gotta get a better job!
4. So many different kinds of apartments to chose from, it’s a shame most of them are so damned expensive (but are that way for a reason. Gotta keep the riff raff out, you know?)
5. When a population is made up of mostly 18-20 somethings, not only does the general IQ go down, but the driving ability as well.
6. I’m much closer to my parents, I get to see them quite often. It’s really pretty nice (it gave me the opportunity to steal some of the ribs Mom cooked the other day that were DELICIOUS).
7. And last but definitely not least, there are actually jobs to be had down here! I found one and am looking for another. Things are gettin’ better, things are gettin’ better all the time.
